Polk and Hyde, Summer 2026: What's Actually Opening on Russian Hill's Main Streets
Walk from Broadway up to Union along Polk right now and you can read the block like a permit board. The plywood at 2193 Polk has a Bageletto sign behind it. The old Zero& space is under construction. The Maison Pacific building has an ABC license notice taped in the window. A stretch of storefront that spent most of 2024 dark is filling in, one small operator at a time.
The thing to notice is who is doing the filling. Not chains. Not out-of-town concepts with a national roll-out plan. The Polk corridor's next chapter is being written almost entirely by San Francisco operators who already run something across town and are choosing Russian Hill as their second address. That is a different kind of neighborhood turnover than what Polk went through in 2023, and it is worth paying attention to if you live here.
